I will readily admit that I do not like styling my hair. I mean, I like the results (when they turn out well) but I’m just not into the time and effort it takes. Since I’ve been a child, I’ve always had super thick hair. To give you an example, it takes about 2 minutes of standing under the showerhead for my scalp to get wet. I know, I shouldn’t complain. However, all these factors translate to an exceedingly long time spent straightening or curling my hair. What’s more, I don’t use many products in my hair because they often cause oiliness or breakouts if my hair comes in contact with my face.
If you pair these issues with my love for sleep, it usually translates to wearing my hair in a bun or ponytail. No muss, no fuss, and out the door. I will never argue with an increase in sleepy time. True story, when I was a little girl my parents would pull me sideways in bed and would dress me while I slept. I only got up to brush my teeth and put my hair in a ponytail before going to school. To this day I can go to sleep anywhere. Don’t judge me.
It wasn’t until September of last year that I heard about a new product that would change my relationship with my hair. That’s a bold statement. I mean, I have been dealing with the same hair styling issues since I was a little kid. Here it this, though. I’m still slightly mad that this wasn’t around when I was in high school.
This device is used just like a normal brush. The tool has an LCD Digital Interface that allows the user to increase and decrease temperature with the touch of a button. This is not just a heated brush! The tool uses Double Negative Ion Technology. In layman’s terms, that means your hair will be shiny, smoothed, and frizz-free. Even better, negative ions remove static electricity. I find this feature very handy during the winter time! It also works on all hair textures. I now can style my hair in less than five minutes. Say what?
Does it sound too good to be true? Here’s a picture of my hair before using the Amika Polished Perfection Straightening Brush.
This is a picture I took three minutes later.
Seeing is believing! I know that $120 isn’t cheap, however, this is an investment that I feel has paid for itself over an over again. You can also find promo codes or discounts online to lower your out of pocket cost. Happy styling my friends!
